A federal investigator said in a affidavit Tuesday that a man charged in connection with the fatal mass shooting at Tuskegee University on Saturday told him that he fired his gun but denied aiming at anyone.

U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson told WAKA News in Montogomery that 20-year-old Jeremiah Williams was arrested Thursday for illegal possession of a machine gun. According to court documents obtained by WAKA, intelligence gathering from the Metro Area Crime Suppression Unit led to his arrest.

According to authorities, the suspect, identified as Jaquez Myrick, 25, was found in possession of a handgun with a machine gun conversion device.
