Firefighters in Arizona handled an unusual emergency when a driver who arrived in Scottsdale from Mesa discovered a boa constrictor poking its head out from the undercarriage of their pickup truck.

The pickup truck owner had driven the vehicle from Mesa to Scottsdale and noticed the snake's head poking out from under the truck after parking. The giant snake was placed in a box and turned over to the Arizona Herpetological Society for care.

Dispatchers couldn't believe the call when an Arizona man dialed a non-emergency line to report a snake in his pickup. The fire department came to the rescue.
