Since its release this month, the new MacBook Pro M4 has comfortably established itself as one of the best laptops you can buy. While Apple made a big deal of the improvements brought by the M4 processor and the inclusion of a glare-limiting nano-texture display, it now seems there may be another big improvement that the company didn’t mention.

The new M4 MacBook Pros that launched last month have an unadvertised change with new quantum dot displays, according to display industry analyst Ross Young and reported by 9to5Mac. Young posted on X that Apple is adopting quantum dot displays for the first time and that it's using a version of the film that is free of cadmium,

The new MacBook Pro range was announced recently, but aside from the new M4 chips, they weren't really shown as a groundbreaking upgrade from their predecessors. They didn't even get their own keynote. As it turns out, these laptops do, in fact, have a massive new improvementthe display.
