Right-handed hitters struggled to hit home runs at Camden Yards over the past few years, so the Baltimore Orioles are moving the left field wall back in a bit.

After adjusting the left field dimensions at Oriole Park before the 2022 season, Baltimore will make alterations ahead of the 2025 campaign.

The Baltimore Orioles will alter the left-field dimensions at Camden Yards for the second time in three years ahead of Opening Day 2025, top baseball operations executive Mike Elias revealed on Friday.

The Orioles are ready to adjust their wall in left field again. The team moved the wall at Camden Yards back and made it significantly taller before the 2022 season. General manager Mike Elias said Friday that the team "overcorrected" and will try to find a "happier medium" before the 2025 season.

The Orioles last changed the dimensions of the left-field wall, moving it back, between the 2021 and 2022 seasons in an effort to pursue a more neutral and pitcher-friendly array at Camden Yards. At the time, Oriole Park was "extremely homer prone," as Elias put it.

Orioles general manager Mike Elias announced in a news conference on Friday afternoon that the expanded left field fence dimensions will be changing after three seasons. The new fence will be somewhere in between where things used to be and where things are now.
