Cold front to bring enhanced rainfall to Florida as Tropical Storm Sara weakens
ORLANDO, Fla. — Tropical Strom Sara continues to bring excessive rainfall to Central America. The biggest threats continue to be flash floods and mudslides in Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and portions of Mexico. It will weaken as Sara makes landfall in Belize and moves further inland today.
Sara was forecast to drop 10 to 20 inches of rain, with up to 30 inches in isolated areas in northern Honduras. In a 7 a.m.
Sara will weaken as it moves inland over the Yucatan Peninsula. Remnant tropical moisture may move into the Gulf of Mexico.
Impacts to the United States from Sara are not yet clear, but recent forecast evolutions are encouraging for Florida.
